Shawna Ankenbrandt is a Los Angeles based artist whose work is influenced by both nature and everyday surf culture. Infused with texture and natural elements, the result of her work is a culmination of her keen eye and understanding of the human relationship to nature. Her most recent collection – Integrative Nudes – explores the symbiotic relation of body to earth, eliminating any objective view of the female form, thus viewing the female form as a part of nature rather than apart from it. Shawna’s work has been widely exhibited in North America, and internationally in Asia and Europe. Her show “Integrative Nudes” is on display at Gallery 169 in Santa Monica until January 3rd, 2017.
